33MP back-illuminated CMOS full-frame sensor

Copper wires help increase transmission speed and AD (analog-to-digital) conversion speed. Fast sensor readout enables 10-bit 4:2:2 4K recording up to 60p. The sensor also provides better color reproduction, low noise performance, 15+ stops of dynamic range and faster autofocus speed.

BIONZ XR image processor processes up to 8 times faster

Sony's Alpha 1 and Alpha 7S III models also use the BIONZ XR engine, which is up to 8 times faster. The engine centralizes autofocus, image recognition and image quality adjustment in real time, minimizing processing delays and significantly improving processing capabilities.

4K 60p recording and 4:2:2 10-bit recording

Full pixel readout without binning allows 4K 60p recording in Super 35 mode, providing high-resolution smooth footage that can be edited to 2x and 2.5x slow motion when rendered to 30p or 24p in post-production, as well as full pixel readout at 4K 24p or 30p without binning at full frame with 7K oversampling.
